With over 30 years experience, 14 of them in France, Richard Cox has created a complete Building Service for his clients under the name SARLCOX, incorporating skill and hard work along with reliability and efficiency. The majority of clients are within a 40km radius of Riberac (24600) in SW France and a large percentage of these are second homeowners.
Swimming pools have become a speciality having built 43 pools of all shapes and sizes and renovated countless others. The aftercare and servicing of these pools is as important as the installation itself and so he has developed a tried and tested fibreglass system. The pool shape is created using special hollow concrete blocks and these are filled with concrete and steel; the floor is polished concrete and the walls are rendered smooth. The fibreglass (900g/m) is then ‘wallpapered’ onto the surfaces using a resin glue, and the surfaces are finished with coloured gel coat.
The strength and durability are without comparison- any shape or step arrangement can be achieved, wrinkly liner corners are never present, and if there are problems they are easily solved. For instance, a gite owner contacted Richard……….. to say that some teenage guests had used an umbrella pole for vaulting into the pool, and after many days this misuse had created a series of ring dents and a fracture of the gel coat. Solution? simply dropping the water level, re-lining the steps with fibreglass, and re-gel coating. The problem was solved in 48 hours. With the limitations of pool liners, he has renovated numerous liner pools to fibreglass/gel coat pools.
